Am I Receding? Thoughts? Next Steps?

Hey guys. You probably receive a lot of these same type of threads on a daily basis. I just wanted to get an opinion, because I’m very much in denial.

I’m a 21 year old male. I just recently noticed a lot of hair loss, in the sink, shower, pillow, etc. I normally wash my hair once every 3-4 days (might seem gross but I keep good hygeine) because I like how it looks with the natural oils my hair produces. However, lately my hair had been staying dry. I also noticed that it doesn’t grow as fast.

All of these things kind of forced me to take a long look at my hair and hairline, and I believe I am seeing some receeding.

Is it receding? How bad has it gottten? I’d like to catch it early, I don’t want to wait too long. I went to the dermatologist for a seperate reason, told him briefly about the hair loss, but this was before I really examined my hair line. He thought I was being silly.

In your opinion, is the thinning I’m seeing a sign of male pattern baldness? Maturing hairline?

Unfortunately, early male pattern baldness. Hair maturing tend to be even recession, whereas male pattern baldness has an inconsistent ongoing receding look.

Bringing this thread back up. It’s been a tough few days..I only even noticed the receding hair line a couple days ago due to the way I wear my hair.

I’m so surprised at how many hairs I’m losing. With no exaggeration..I can count up to 100 hairs, both large and small, just from running my hands through my hair (especially at my temples) for a straight 15-20 seconds.

Can male pattern baldness be this aggressive? Is the hair loss that noticeable, in that much quanitity? It’s been a very stressful year to say the least... Is the stress just speeding up the proccess?

Maturing. Don't listen to trolls. Your are not balding. Still have good density and everything. It's normal to lose up to 100 hairs per day.

It's a tough call. Could be maturing. could be balding. Forget about this and set a reminded to take and compare pics after 1 year.

I see temple slight temple thinning from the side profile. I agree with countjulian. Best thing is to compare pictures at a later time, if it is as aggressive as it sounds.

Yes the temples are on the way out, but you still have decent density up top. Perhaps get on Finasteride quickly but do your research to make sure it's right for you first.
