Am I on the right path?

Well guys once again another depressing day to the point where I dont want to leave the house. I have been on Finpecia for a little over 6 months, and I do seem to be maintaining. My plan is to see if I can continue to maintain for a year, and than consider a hair transplant. I am 32 and I am guessing I am a NW4. I am probably a level above what DIRTRIDER67 was before he had his work done. To me his improvement is incredible. Is this the right path to take or what? Nothing more depressing than trying to style your hair, and your hair line is all the way on top of your head.

No, your path is half-assed and is wasting time.

Get on a bunch of all-natural stuff, plus finasteride. Hit your hairloss from every angle your pocketbook will let you. Add minoxidil and a shampoo containing ketconazole shampoo if you are comfortable with either. I recommend Revita.

Get the transplants now, who cares if you receed behind the new hairline you created. I'd rather have hair at the front than on the top anyhow. And if you maintained on finasteride, then I'm pretty sure you'll maintain from here on out if you throw the kitchen sink at it. Stop trying to impress these nervous nellies and do what you know you should do...LIVE. (That starts with getting hair.)

Get a transplant (the right transplant! be carefull who you choose). Enjoy hair now and finasteride should help you maintain.

You have three things going for you. First, you are 32, not 23. Second, you are not in an advanced hairloss class, third, you are experiencing good efficiency from finasteride. Actually there is four. You have done lots of research too.

Out of all of the questions I receive on a daily basis, I am always asked, "Gillenator, do you think I need a transplant?" This question is on more pics that are e-mailed to me more than anything else.

And I always give the same reply. NO ONE ever NEEDS a hair transplant. You have to determine that for yourself based on an informed decision. You know the benefits as well as the risks. The men who actually get hair transplants as a percent of the men with male pattern baldness is still very small. What does that tell you? It tells you that there is a smaller percent of us who are troubled by our genetic hairloss, yet we make reasonably good candidates for success with the procedure. :hairy:

Does that make any sense to you? Hope that helps.

Yeah it makes a lot of sense. I figure it will be a year before I am out of school and financially able to get a hair transplant if I decide to anyway. By that time hopefully there will be more information about HM, and maybe even more advanced techniques with hair transplant. But the bottom line is simple, I want a little hair back. I am not picky if I could get back to a NW2 I would be happy.
