Oh goodness! I see some major thinning going on. I would say you are probably closer to a NW2. You look pretty young, and if I was you i'd start on dutasteride, ru, cb, and minoxidil. Good luck make sure to take pictures!

Ok thanks I don't mean to make anyone jealous. as someone pointed out I look young, and young looking face + balding is usually a very bad combination IMO so I wanted to ask people with a good eye for hair loss if they saw any early signs

appreciate the feedback

At the point you are at only you can tell if you lost any density ect. Us guys with obvious balding just think you have a perfect hairline. If you feel you are thinning or w/e feel free to start watching closer and posing some pictures for us after a few months. I wont recommend treatment atm, but if you start getting worse jump on something because the sooner you begin treament the better it will work.

I agree with Agahi.

Although I see no thinning and I would trade for your hairline because i'm an NW3, it is only the person who knows something is going on up there with his his hairline. After years of looking at a thick hairline, you start to notice some slight thinning and then the first thing you do is ask for help but people will generally look at you like you are crazy.

It happened to me, innocently enough I was NW1, when some thinning started and I asked my mom and she said it's okay, nothing's happening. I believed her, then 2 years later I was a NW3. It creeped up on me out no where too. Literally in months I shed a ton of hair which ultimately left me at NW3. I've been NW3 since then, because of finasteride stopping it, but I regret listening to my mother when I knew myself that something was wrong. I'm stuck at NW3 now because it seems no drug will do anything to put me back at NW1-2.Only an hair transplant can give me back a thick NW2 hairline.

You will know before anyone else if you pay attention to it. From the pics I say wait 6 months or a year and take pics to compare back. If you spot trouble then go see a derm if propecia is good idea. Right now prevention is key so I dont get making fun of someone for being proactive about it. You cant go back in time and try something after its gone.

Solid advice, thanks guys. I may get a miniaturisation test just for thoroughness' sake.

Also I think my widow's peak has always been fairly thin and weak, but do you guys see anything about it that might suggest thinning? I don't really have any pics to look back on since I always had bangs as a teen.

Also is there anyway to permanently retain a juvenile hairline with treatments? Or will I likely settle into a 'mature' NW1 against my will? I'm 21, soon to be 22 if that helps

Not many people with great hair even keep a juvenile hairline. I'm betting finasteride won't protect it for too long. Hairline hairs for whatever reason are very susceptible to hair loss to almost everyone.
