Am I losing my hair?

basicly I ve noticed my hair thinning on the sides but nowhere else so far as i can see. I dont think im losing any hair on top or from my hairline at the front. Just on the right hand side of my head and a little bit on the other side?? Im 19 and noticed that my hair has thinned on this side alot over the last month or 2. Is this male pattern baldness or perhaps a diet problem or something else?

Well here's my opinion...

I don't think that's really male pattern baldness. I could be wrong but it looks just kind of like the sides thinned. There could be multiple causes and most of the time isn't a big deal. Unless you notice recession or thinning on top I would forget the words MALE PATTERN BALDNESS even exist.

You don't take pictures like that and then ask if you have male pattern baldness. Always take pictures of your hairline and crown because that's there your male pattern baldness usually starts. If you can post pictures of your hair wet and combed forward.

K i got some photos of my hair wet and combed forward. Its just when my sides are pushed back you can see that there is loads of hair loss and it was never like that before.

And heres where the problem is, my hair has thinned alot on the right hand side and a little on the left too

To me it looks just fine bro. I don't see any diffuse thinning on top and vertex and the scalp isn't showing. So I'd say if you have male pattern baldness it's not showing yet. Thin sides are nothing unusual. I have a friend who's sides are extremly see through but the top of his head is thick as a rainforest.

For now you're doing just great a solid NW2.

Unfortunetly, that's exactly how it started for me 2 years ago. The sides were the first to go, then my temples started thinning.

hard to say since we didn't know what u looked like a year ago. if u think u've been thinning u probably have. once you're sure you've been thinning get on finasteride.

Thats the prob though even looking at photos of me a year ago nothing has changed except the sides at the front. What i cant understand is why they have thinned so fast in the last few weeks but nowhere else. My hair is exactly the same as far as i can tell except in those areas. Is it possible only my sides are receding?? My only hope is that i dont go bald, a receded hairline i could live with. I did take zma over a month ago which increases the testosterone but stoped takin when this happened, could that be the cause??

Brush your hair back when wet. I don't know what you looked like too long ago, but it looks like you've got a little temple recession going on, but then again your hair might have always looked like that. I never even had sides like your

I don't see any problem i would kill to have that much hair. If you're sides or thinning that could be Alopecia.

yeah you look like I did a few years back. I started thinning on the sides too which my doctor thought was odd. Actually one side was thinning more than the other for some reason. Topik is a good concealer if you wanted to go that route(worked for me for years).

Hi all, as I said earlier im 19 an was just wondering if its safe to take finasteride, it wont ruin my sex drive or anything will it, cos tbh my sex drive isnt really high as it is right now and has concerned me for the last 6 months as its gone down considerably. But then again this is about the same time that I started goin to the gym so I guess I could be burning my testoserone away which could be the cause. As a result I started taking ZMA tablets that boost the male hormones and testosterone, I started taking these in november. Since bout mid december I noticed alot of hair loss at the front on my sides which are shown in the photos. Not sure if the hair loss is due to these, alopecia or perhaps early signs of male pattern baldness. Wot im thinking of doing is waiting a month or 2 and if the hair shows no sign of growing back, Ill start taking finasteride. Is this safe at my age, will it make my sex drive even worse than it is now??? just thought Id ask these questions first as this is really bothering me. I thought my sides had receded a bit in the summer but assumed i was imagining it, but since december its alot worse due to thinning. I dont think my hairline has receded though and my hair is thick on top so im not really sure wot is goin on. Ill post pics of my hair wet and pulled back later so hopefully someone will be able to notice whether im in the early stages of male pattern baldness.

Yes I'd say you have early signs of M.P.B. You may receed in a 'distinguished' way which wouldn't be the end of the world, I'd wait until you can see where it's going a bit before you start medication but that's just my opinion. I would also add that you wouldn't actually look too bad with a buzzcut should you ever need to.

My sides seem to be thinning like a b@stard aswell. I never really focused on the sides before, always the temple.
