Am I going bald?

I'm 16 years old. I think I'm going bald. I'm not sure when I started thinking, but I think it was when I took a close look on my hair one day. REALLY close. Also, my sister used to tease me when I was little that I was going to go bald like my father.

Before I show you pictures, I would like to say that I've had, not sure how to explain .... You could see my white scalp, beneath all the hair. It was like that as long as I could remember. I had much hair, but if someone took look at me and for example someone with great hair, you could tell that they had more hairstrips than me. If you didn't understand what I'm talking about now, let me know. I'll try to explain better -__-
My father is bald, and so is my grandfather. I'm not sure about my grandfather on my mother's side, since he died early, (age 30 or so) and had all his hair.

I'm seeing recession, yes... balding. No one knows for sure if you'll end up with horseshoe pattern hair or if you'll stop at NW3 with a vampire hairline.

Can I get any treatment now? I've read in other sites/forums that it would be best to delay since it's bad for young age. To get access to treatments such as Rogaine, do I have to make a doctor prescribe it to me? If so, is there any other treatments you can get without a doctor's prescription? Reason to that is that I want to avoid my family to find out. They're the kind of person that would make fun of me instead of being supportive. Just want to avoid that.

EDIT: There's a chance that I have male pattern baldness. Can I be treated if I have that?

I'm assuming that you will have to tell your family if you want to go to a dermatologist...which is probably what you should do, just so they can tell you what is actually happening. Maybe it's not male pattern baldness at all. Just go to a dermatologist.
