Am I Going Bald, Or Is This A Cowlick?

Hi.

It's my first post here. I'm a 26-year-old male, and recently I've been worrying about my hair.

I've had a high hairline, and it's always bothered me. I've always had lots of thick hair, but since I've been having cut shorter I've noticed my crown looks a little thin, and I can see more of my head than I can remember.

I've been worrying ever since. I have a large head, and I don't think being bald will suit me. I'm also weary of taking any drugs as I'd like to avoid any side effects.

I've read the term cowlick, and I've thought this might be what I have, but I'm not too positive on that.

My hairdresser doesn't think I should be worrying, but maybe a doctor would give me a better indication?

If it helps, my Mum's Dad went bald quite early, and my father and his Dad are/were thinning.

Maybe I should go bald gracefully and stop worrying. I don't notice any abnormal hair loss on my pillow or in the plug after a shower.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I took the pictures with a window light above my head. Direct artificial light makes it look a lot more apparent.

If I zoom in and stare really hard at it, I might see some slight thinning and that's trying to see something that may not be there. I think it's just a cowlick

I think it looks fine, light hair makes it more apparent but that looks normal to me. Keep an eye on it at least.
