Im 18.5 years old and I feel that I may be losing my hair, although my hairline hasn’t changed since I’ve been a child. I have balding on my fathers side and none on my mothers. I also take biotin daily. Would love to hear feedback from someone with more knowledge than me.

I was just your exact same age when I started losing hair and it was very similar. My crown was like yours and now it's thinning a bit more so I would say probably, is there genetic history?

Unfortunately you are balding and from pictures it seems to me that you are norwood 2 now. I wouldn't recommend you any drug treatment because you are relatively young and drugs stop working after few years(tolerance).but a standard scalp massage will help to slow down the balding process. I am taking bicarbonate tablets to reduce blood pH for metabolic acidosis and guess what? My hair density has been increasing since bicarbonate use.but i am not sure about the connection,it is known that blood acidity is linked to many physical disorders and I suspect it has correlation with male pattern baldness.
should I recommend you bicarbonate pill? I am not sure. But anyways ,consulting a good doctor should be your priority

Don't you mean "increase blood pH" since bicarbonates are supposed to be basic.

I don't think so. He's young, but old enough to start a treatment. And tolerance usually develops in case of Minoxidil users (anecdotal). And just because people can develop tolerance doesn't mean they shouldn't get on a treatment. In fact, they should get on treatments as soon as possibe.
but a standard scalp massage will help to slow down the balding process.
Isn't this male pattern baldness we're talking about?

Ya dude I hate to say but you are most likely balding. I would look up dermarolling and rogaine for now (read very closely on side effects, skin related and a small chance to make hair worse). After that I’d watch your hair closely and if you continue to progress start propecia and pray to god that it works for you

Thank you but I can’t tell because I haven’t experienced hairloss or hairline change. Only subtle thinning at the most.

I can show you some younger photos and also. Can you instruct me on where I can get those things you mentioned?

I hope you’re right man, although that one temple looks like it’s getting close to nw3...
Trust me man I know it’s been a very stressful process, sometimes it feels so unpreventable. But thank you for your help, I appreciate it.
