Am I Balding Is It Too Late To Fix This?

I am a 22 year old male. Recently this past summer I got a new job that made me put my hair into a pony tail it was much longer at the time. I splitting my hair into diagonal bangs for 5 months and had my hair in a man bun most of the time if it wasn't in a ponytail.

I got my hair cut back in October it looked fine but my temples looked a little thin but nothing crazy.

Then a few weeks ago I got the not-so bright idea to start vigurously brushing my hair while wet. My split ends were so bad you could see my scalp unlike before. I got another haircut to get rid of the split ends and now it looks worse. When wet and dry.

Some background I have naturally very thick hair my father went bald around this age. And my mother's fathrr has all his hair.

Can I get recommendations for hair treatment if needed?

Yeah you’re receding bro. If you get on finasteride now you’ll most likely keep your hair.

It’s still thick and looks good from the front!

I just called up a dermatologist today after reading the comments I'm trying to set up a first consultation.

Question if I were to take rogain in the interim between my consultation and my eventual Rx of finasteride would this be a good game plan?

You clearly receding bro and probably have been for a bit but maybe in denial? Seen a doctor yet?

Just called a dermatologist.

I honestly didn't know cause my hair was so long just this summer. Like past shoulder length and looked really full.

Don you think I can keep most of my hair if I go on finasteride ?

Rogaine is a chore. Once you start you can’t stop. If you’re willing to take it twice every day forever, it’s a good idea. I wish I got on rogaine when I started finasteride but I didn’t. Now I’ve lost even more hair and I’m worried about the shed that minoxidil would give me.

Thanks, I'll buy some ASAP then. Personally I'm fine with taking it forever if it means I keep my hair.

Hopefully this bump is allowed but my edges are almost all back after 3 months of liquid rogain 5% combined with hair anew hair loss vitamins. ( I will post pictures in a few hours.

The first few weeks were rough with the itchyness and dandruff. After week 5 that is gone for the most part.

Question for the more experienced users.

I've noticed some minor crown balding, if I continue to apply rogain to my edges will that still get rid of my crown balding or should I just apply it directly to the area of concern?

You have to apply it everywhere you're loosing hair. Applying it on the edges won't do anything against your crown thinning.

Post some pics bro. I'm curious how well you responded
