Actually, it's just the opposite of what you said! The study showing azelaic acid to reduce the synthesis of DHT used
human tissue, not rats. The problem, though, is that the study was merely
in vitro, not
in vivo. They mixed the azelaic acid with minced human tissue in a test tube, nothing more. Azelaic acid has NEVER been shown to suppress DHT when applied topically to living humans or animals.
