Almost 5 months complete on dutasteride...not so good.

Coming up to 5 months on dutasteride now, and Im just seeing my hair get worse at the moment. Dont know exactly what to do but would really appreciate any tips. Im taking 1 pill a day (0.5mg), and just really pissed off with everyting now. The hair has been consistently shedding over the last 5 months but every now and then I get a Major-shed and I am just in one now.
As you know (from my earlier posts) I was on propecia before, and Im just wondering if the effects of propecia are slowly wearing off, with the dutasteride doing nothing? I dont know.

keep at it Dani, you need to give it 12 months before you can really tell what is going on. The shedding might be a good sign, there are plenty of people here who have shed like mad in the early stages and then started to notice good effects.

I don't think it's unusual to see shedding in the 5th month, the cycle of hair growth and renewel is quite long (i think about 8months?) so it's important to really stick it out till that 12 month so you can tell whats going on. If you search for 'shedding' in this forum you'll probably be able to get some better answers which will help relieve some of your worries about this

Don`t worry Dany, I went through the same that you exactly in the fifth month.
That process lasted three months approximately, and then I started to notice good effects.
At this moment I have no hairloss.Don`t desesperate; )

Did you have shedding during through the first 5 monhts? I am now starting month six and shedding is quite bad.

When you saw improvements, how better were they compared to when you started?

No I didn`t.Actually I started the treatment taking a pill on alternate days and I stopped the hairloss and fortified my hair.Then -In the month five- I had an important shedding.
In the sixth month I started taking a pill every day and the hair loss continued, I was very worried in those days, but then, like I said, hairloss started to come out.

When you saw improvements, how better were they compared to when you started?

I can say that now -12th month- I`m seeing small improvements.But I guess this is the begging of something important.

If my english teacher read this post, she would die.Sorry
