Gentleman,

My hair loss started at 21 years of age. Typically, I have never given the hair loss much attention, until recently when it has progressed to another stage. To the point where I keep receiving comments while getting my haircut, around friends, etc. Out of two grandparents, one had a shiny cold-a-sac bald spot at 88 years old, while the other had a head of hair that was slightly thinning along the top at 93 years old.

I am looking for feedback to see how this will progress over the next 10 years. Specifically, those of you who had this type of hair loss at this age.

After speaking with a doctor, the finasteride pill is not worth the potential risk. Possibly will jump onto minoxodil. I am also assuming a hair transplant is too early?

Nothing gets better with age. Right now its accept the risks of finasteride or accept the the cards nature dealt you. Even with a transplant you will still go bald without propecia its just unavoidable right now, and we are talking years until something safer replaces it.
I think you need propecia ASAP or decide that your okay with male pattern baldness and shave it.
minoxidil is very cheap so that is a no brainer, but you will lose hair unless you add the AA

Based on experience, does minoxidil have potential for stoppage and regrowth? Or is propecia primarily known for regrowth.
