Against The Grain **Shaved Head Thread**

Yesterday I performed another first-time stunt. I shaved my entire head against the grain with a Gillette Mach III razor (last time I shaved it was with the grain). All I can say is that I went from half preppy/half thug to straight "gansta". Well, at least that's how my friends described it. People on the road look at me and turn their heads quickly, as if they are afraid to get car-jacked or robbed. Little do they know that I don't settle for foolish crimes. Home invasions and bank robberies are more my style... jk lol.

I like the smooth head look, but everyone agrees I look better with at least a #1 clipper guard and blade fade on the sides, since it has contrast and a shadow of hair. I guess there's a first time for everything! I will shave with the grain 2 to 3 more times then let it grow out. Hopefully this will strengthen my follicles to a certain extent.

I was wondering when you were gonna come back with a hair style story?

I've been shaving my head to a #1 for awhile and tried growing it back but now thats its a little longer, Im reminded of why I shaved it in the first place.

Im gonna wait untill the later spring to shave my head again. This time it will be with a razor and a tan. Dark tans make everything look better.

well get this-

last friday a drank two beers -this was a few hours before that really long rant i had on here that night >;-)

anyhow after the second beer i decided, i'm gonna cut my hair!!

ok.. so i got out the clippers and away i went, without even thinking

so anyhow i forgot to put the guard on... and ended up cutting the back of my head to the lowest level (like sandpaper)

soon as i did that, i knew i was fukked

now what?, i said

well, there was no solution!!!! so i left the top of my head the way it was, and somehow managed to sneak in a decent fade. anyhow it still looked rediculous, i looked like a 15-year old with a mushroom cut, and i'm 28!!!

it's grown in now a week later, only good thing was i could pass for 22 after i cut it!!!

i thought you were going to say that after you shaved without the guard your hair started growing back like wildfire, and you now you are selling the new gaurdless razor and calling it RK-20 for 300 bucks per month.

Seems if your coming to terms with having a hair free scalp, your part way down the road to accpeting your genetic fate, which quite frankly, if you suite this look--> 8) is not such a frightening prospect.

It's true that the hair looks like sh*t when growing back from a "against the grain" shave, and whoever said something about the ingrowing hairs is right. I'm getting a couple bumps now, and hope they are just..."bumps", not ingrown hairs. If I ever shave my head again it will be with the grain, or machine. Now I'm just waiting for my scalp to get back in good shape for me to begin my hair grow-out process.

Bumps have to be gone, and hair has to be all even. I can guarantee you one thing though...that will be the last time that I shave my dome against the grain. I'm not up for ingrown hairs, bumps, razor burns, and cuts. I have enough with my beard. I am not adding another slave to the blade.

I went against the grain and had no problems. I just made sure that I used plenty of hot/warm water and really messaged the shaving cream into my head. Came out shiney smooth and thats the only complaint I have, the shine.

Someone posted a way to get rid of that glare but I forget what the product name was. Anyone remember?

I've been getting the shaved haircut for a while, because I think the comb over effect doesn't suit me any more. it depends on the extent of the hair loss. I've had mine at a grade 2 for the last 6 months, and if my regimen doesn't work it's going to stay like that

Closest ive gone is a blade 1, few folks have told me I could pull it off going skin even though I have a big head, they said it would still look alright.

Girls said..

" if you have a nice face, shaved head or not, you will still probably be good looking"

and

" get big before you shave your head"

After spending 23 years in a climate where summer lasts 335 days a year, anything below 70 degrees is cold lol. Either way, I'm pretty tolerant to cold. I would be able to be that fan that has no shirt on during an NFL game at 35 degrees or less. Canada? Woah.

ANOTHER example of hopewas putting in his 2 cents and AGAIN, it has to be negative about a person on the board.

Ever hear of the saying: "If you dont like what you see here, get the f*** out."?
