afro thunder's 4 month rogaine/minoxidil report

ok...it's been exactly 4 months since my derm gave me a bottle of rogaine 5% and i've been using it eversince for my hairline, which had a minimal recession, and temples. i noticed a horendous shed the first 2 weeks of use...my hair was falling out left and right and i could of sworn rogaine was the worst thing to ever happened to me.

after the first 2 weeks of hell, the shedding gradually decreased and it virtually ceased after the 1 month mark of continuous use. i first noticed my first baby vellus hairs at around the 2 month mark and i was ecstatic. the hairs along my hairline and temples have been getting darker and more visible by the day and i couldn't be happier. i would also like to point out that i've also noticed a substantial increase of body hairs and facial hair as well, along with :moon: hairs, or so my gf has told me.

anyhow, this is has been my regimen during my battle with male pattern baldness:

first 3 months: rogaine 5%, nioxin shampoo + conditioner, and hair vitamins

last month: generic minoxidil 5% from costco, nizoral(been using it for 2 weeks now), and hair vitamins.

(note: i haven't been perfect with my rogaine/minoxidil twice a day applications...i have missed probably 10 applications since day 1)

Was the hair that grew after the shed the hair that minoxidil made fall out or was it actually NEW hair? Are you going to continue applying minoxidil over the hair that has regrown or just in front of it? Thanks.

tomsmith...

the hairs that has grown is actually new hairs...thats why i was ecstatic..

to your other question: i actually put minoxidil to the whole front part of my head(2 inches from my hairline and .25 inch in front of my hairline) for safety precautions.

Any plans on what you're gonna do about the body hair? Or don't care at this point?

How bout the beard hair growth? Doesn't it get to a point where you can get a clean shave no matter what you do?

Afro21, are you a woman? I missed that part :( I say that because I didn't know a man would get laser treatment for facial hair removal.

I haven't had any body hair increase this bout, I'm about 3-1/2 months in. Funny thing is my increased eyebrow growth stopped after a month or so, I think it's because I use my hands more and keep the stuff from dripping off my scalp.

No increased growth on hands, surprisingly, must be because I wash them right after. I took "before pix" of my hands this time just to make sure :)

lol...im a man!

i want to get it done on my cheeks as i don't like hair on my cheeks(i might be getting that wolverine look in a couple of months) and neck hairs, which is getting pretty annoying as of late.
