In Sept 08 I began Propecia. The first week I tried to introduce my body to finasteride by taking 0.25mg for the first two weeks until I hit 0.5mg at week 4 at which I stayed @ 0.5mg ED Propecia for 4 months. I had absolutely no side effects except for one Gyno Symptoms! I felt itchiness the first week which pretty much subsided with the use of Aromasin to help counter the effect of raised Estrogen which settled things.
However at around the 4th month mark I got a blood test done which showed my Prolactin and Estrogen levels were raised however within 'normal' ranges for someone of my age. I was really scared of developing Gyno and decided to quit Propecia.
I have now been off Propecia coming up to about 6-7 Weeks. When I was using Propecia I was extremely unfit (stopped going to the gym for 12 months) ate crap and had a high Bodyfat% which I think contributed to the raised Estrogen, PERHAPS?! Anyone shed light on this as a possibility?
So currently I am on Duromine to drop as much BMI as possible and at the same time start hitting the gym and getting healthy. Reducing body fat and working out more often can this perhaps reduce the amount of Estrogen in the body while on low doses of Propecia?
I am open to all suggestions on how to get back onto this drug. I am even happy to take Propecia once or twice a week to atleast be doing something BUT I have no idea if this would have any effect on maintenance?
