hey, guys, long time lurker and now first time member. I started oral finasteride 2.5 years ago and I responded very well. Saw regrowth and I’ve had sides like reduced libido and some depression increase, but even those have died down. Earlier this year I realized I was losing ground again and the finasteride stopped working as well. I got a script for topical finasteride/azaleic acid/minoxidil that I’ve been applying at night for little over 3 months now. I’m seeing regrowth and the appearance of vellus hairs where it used to be completely bald.
Basically, my question is this: do I keep waiting for results from the topical or should I switch that to dutasteride .5mg once a week? I would be taking finasteride 1 every night and duta once a week and stop the topical for a while. I don’t want to start duta until I have to because I know I’ll only get so many years out of it. But at the same time, I know it’s easier to maintain existing hair rather than trying to regrow it later.
Any advice would be appreciated
Additionally, I’m a NW2 and I dermaroll once or twice a week with 1.5 mm
