Hi guys,

I was hoping to get some advice on surgeons in Australia . I have been to a few consultations such as Mancave, Dr Rao in in Surry hills, Dr Andrew Kim.

i have t been able to find many posts on doctors for Fue or Fut in Australia - would greatly appreciate if someone could give me advice and any of their personal experience if possible .

I am not considering any other countries at this point for this.
thanks in advance

Recommend going to USA, Turkey or Western Europe. No one here will recommend an Australian surgeon

No travel for the foreseeable future plus staying at home - I thought home ( Australia would be a good option ) . I have seen a few loose threads discussing about the Australian industry, but nothing recent

Anyone ??

Not that I've been researching recently, but the Australian surgeons I have looked in to ended up being overpriced with mediocre results.

India has good options if you were looking for something slightly closer to home and acceptable value when the restrictions lift.

Dr Tejinder Bhatti & Dr Suneet Soni are respectable surgeons with great results. You could also look into Bangkok but I don't know too much about this.

Now I'm asking, assuming the situation is the same but is there ANYONE good in Australia? I found one clinic that charges $18,000 for 2000 grafts!

Dr. Jennifer Martinick and Dr. Sara Kotai. Dr. Jennifer Martinick is pretty well known internationally. She headed most of the research into hair transaction and graft survival. Her success rate is one of the highest. It’s hard to find Hair Transplantation surgeons in Australia due to the flood of adds and outright garbage scams. The worst thing you can do is go to one of those places that funnel patients through (can’t name them) giving them cheap prices but you end up with bad survival rates and your transplant doesn’t look as good as it should have. I almost made the mistake of going to a place advertising $6000 for 2000 grafts FUE. I got in there, the guy that consulted me was a salesman with no qualifications at all. Then you dig and realise the “doctor” is not even competing the procedure, it’s “hair technicians.” They try to spin the bullshit that the technicians are experienced and do it every day. Experience is not qualified. This doesn’t make them good. They do not understand the complexity of events of what they are doing. They are task oriented.

Many doctors in the cosmetic industry just call themselves cosmetic doctors these days as there is no regulation. They don’t even get formal training. A nurse literally is more qualified than them, as nurses complete post-graduate and specialise in many instances (this is only subject to post-grad nurses- many cosmetic nurses are not)
a cosmetic surgeon on the other hand is again different. Not to be mixed with plastic surgeon.
Dr. Kotai and Martinick are cosmetic surgeons, which you can tell there is a huge difference when they consult you.

I’m getting mine done in March.
Also make sure you do proper research into hair transplants. FUE will be more expensive as it’s more time consuming, but also results in a higher level of graft lost and transaction. FUT If the surgeon is qualified enough and can do the trichophytic closure, they close the area without a scar and the hair grows through it. FUE is generally what places try to sell as they can get their unqualified assistants to puncture and implant hairs; the doctor can also get away with not having the same skill as a cosmetic surgeon ableTo perform FUT. FUT requires a cosmetic surgeon of skill. the FUT removes a slither of hair which is dissected manually and organised, giving you generally more follicles per graft as it’s controlled dissection, meaning your results turn out much better. FUE transaction is high and often leaves grafts damaged- both removed from donor site and around the puncture of the donor site where a graft was removed.

After all the consults I went through, it’s unbelievable what junk for profit is out there.

Anyone tried Crown Clinic or Elite Hair in Sydney?
Stay away from crown.

I had a consultation with Knudsen, good guy but I wasn't sure of the results as he didn't have a lot of before/after photos

do not go to the crown absolute terrible business. they will rush it not do the job properly just so they can go home early they honestly don't give a sh*t about you its a production line get you in and out as fast as possible. thats why there cheap compared to other clinics in Australia. the guy (james) that does the consultation isnt a doctor or surgeon yet he tells you how much grafts you need and draws the design up on your head and tries to convice you whatever he drew is good even if its crooked and not proportionate at all he just freestyles in with a texture doesnt measure nothing. then he gets one of hes surgeons (kat) to just do however many grafts he said. so if you need 2000 grafts but james only wrote down 1000 kat doesn't say hold up i do this everyday and what james said is wrong your going to need another 1000. nope she just does it to finish early for the day and rush the process. or the doctor that gives the anesthetic (dr tony) didnt do a prick test so the entire operation im in pain and when i told kat he didnt do a prick test she just said oh well hes one of the best in australia. i could go on and on but i will stop... i have to go somewhere else to finish the job they didnt finish.

This guy does a great video log on crown clinic with what feels like realistic expectations of the result. Personally, my consultation with them told me everything I needed to know. Total rip off

If anyone else in Australia is still looking into FUE done locally, I've just learnt of a surgeon, Dr Rukshan Senanayake who works for Gro Clinics Gold Coast & Brisbane. His results are very impressive - just look at his Instagram (dr_ruk). I would seriously consider going with him...

What have you heard about crown? I know someone who had a good result but just curious to what you have heard. They are just so much cheaper than anyone else.

I just had my SMP in Sydney and costed me great with 15% discount on billing. I paid $4500 but it also depends on the grafts, so you have to calculate it first.
