Advice needed - Start with Finasteride, later with minoxidil

Sounds kind of logical to me actually. Minoxidil helps regrow hair for a while. Over time it loses its effectiveness. Once propecia gets in your system for 6 months to 1.5 years it will hopefully take the regrowth from minoxidil and maintain it for you. I would say it would save you time and money in the long-term. Start out with both, let propecia do its magic, and quit minoxidil after 1 to 1.5 years.

I heard that minoxidil growth cant be sustained by Finasteride since they work in 2 completely different ways. So surely going on minoxidil for a year an then stopping is just stupid as i will end up losing all growth from it even with Propecia... I would rather just put the minoxidil on my face for a year as i heard it helps develop and thicken up your facial hair which Finasteride clearly would not be doing :p

Man I wish I could grow a beard! :x

I am balding, and can't grow a beard. Sucks. I've never tried putting the minoxidil on my face. Maybe its worth a shot lol

Well I'll be.

I will certainly give it a shot some day if I'm bald, and want to grow a beard. Anyone know where the last spots to fill in on a beard are? My mustache still doesn't connect to my chin making a full goatee. My sides are still a bit thin as well.

Usually your connectors - goatee to moustache, and cheeks i.e to completely fill in and not be patchy

Well I think my beard is still developing. I will let it take it's natural course before using min to expedite it.

I've been on Nizoral 2% for about 2weeks now and ive noticed something quite strange. Before starting i would get a burning/itching sensation in the areas my hair was falling and when i would run my hands through my hair, countless hairs would fall out. Now that feeling has gone and very few, if no hairs are falling out as i run my hands through my hair. It might all be in my head but it seems that nizoral has been of benefit.

Nice! I've only been using the 1 percent. Do you recommend getting a prescription for the 2 percent? How did you get a hold of 2 percent nizoral?

It doesn't seem they sell the 1% version here in the UK, that's why I ended up buying the 2% version from my local pharmacy. As far as recommending it, for me it's the better choice as I have generally oily hair so I've noticed no dry scalp/hair, and you are more likely too see results from 2%.

It's sort of the opposite for us in the states. We can buy keto shampoo on amazon.com but to get the 2% stuff I think we need a prescription. I will just have to stick with the 1%
