Advice for a newbie - pics

Hi there,

I'm in my early 30s and have noticed over the past six months in particular that I'm losing quite a few strands of hair each day (noticeably more than normal). I've always had very fine hair, and I'm clearly thinning at the sides - see pics below. Crown and top seem fine. My dad is in his mid 60s and he has always had a very high hairline at the sides, but his crown and top are still ok.

I'm worried though that my hair is going to keep falling out, and I'm really keen to know if anyone has any advice for this kind of thinning.

Any help really appreciated.

Thanks,
Harry

If it really does feel like it's getting thinner, then start the medications, but if you have same hair as your father, it's probably just a mature hairline receding very slowly.

It might be hard thing to do, but if you get a doctor to look at it and confirm that it really is male pattern baldness then at least you'll know one way or the other, and can think about starting Finasteride.

none of us are our own best judges because we tend to get very paranoid when it comes to checking for hairloss, so better to get somebody else to look.

M hair looks quite similar to this. Its damn hard to style such fine hair. So I sympathsize with you. Sadly there is nothing you can do about the receaded temples unless you get a hair transplant. I would start propecia just to maintain your mid scalp thickness and crown.
