Hi, I just celebrated my birthday few days ago and I'm to talk about a huge problem, that I'd like to solve if possible with hair implants.

Since 4 years, I loss my hair, and that recently faster and faster. Because of the stress, it is sometimes really blistering. I estimate i'm on the 3a or something like that on the Norwood Scale. I look my self in every thing that make a mirror effect in the street, or look in the mirror when I juste wash my hands, and have the same reaction : feel like crying.

Do you think a hair implants would be possible, despite of my young age - 23 years old? I'm ready to do others implants operations if required in the future.

PS : I have never take any medications, because I thought that no matter what I do, when I will stop balness will be back. On an other hand, finasteride effects frigthen me : sexual impotence, depressive disorder..

There is not much we can tell you, this is pretty rough for age 23. You can try the big 3 (derma rolling, minoxidil, finasteride), and could be a good responder.

The way I see it, yes these drugs have some chances of side effects. In my opinion, and with the medical research out there, the probability of these side effects is pretty small.

Is the probability of you being depressed 100% if you go bald? If so, I would say treatments are worth a shot. If you think you can shave your head and still be happy in life, then all power to you, this is probably the healthiest path to take.

You can do a transplant, but with your age and level of loss, I doubt an ethical surgeon would accept you as a patient if you aren't on finasteride.

Thank you for your answer. In your opinion, a transplant will never be possible, or not at this age because of the uncertain evolution ?

Go get a blood test to see what your DHT and testosterone levels are. If DHT is very high, then the only thing that will save you is using finasteride. Since you say you cry to see your condition, why not try it. Just start out on a very small dose and slowly work up to something stronger.
