Any of you guys are taking psycho-stimulants like ritalin, adderall etc for ADD/ADHD? I have read that these drugs constrict the blood from flowing to the head, thus causing hair loss. Is it true?

Minoxidil is used to encourage more blood flow to the scalp right? So does it counter the effect from psycho-stimulants? I have read from other forums that some people taking these ADD/ADHD medication encounter hair loss, while some don't.

Any comments?

Do psycho-stimulants counter the effect of hair loss treatments like minoxidil and finasteride?

I'm just curious, how did people survive in the many millenia before there was ADD medications? I've heard that all the crap people eat these days, processed foods, etc, leads to what people think is ADD. What kind of food do you eat?

I canot wait for the "robust appetite syndrome" to be "discovered"so that all obese people can claim to be victims.

Sorry if I sound insensitive, but you're just making drug companies rich.

In my experience with adderal, my hair has improved on it....while using the big three ofcourse. I suspect any hair- fall/thinning from the meds will be little if any as long as it is used as prescribed.. However, if one misuses the medicine; abuse- high dosages, injecting, snorting, or using the drug to pull all nighters to cram for exams. This may cause hairloss as misuse can cause adrenal stress.
