Actavis Finasteride?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but currently the only FDA approved generic version of finasteride is the 5 mg version Actavis is making, right?

Secondly has anyone here tried this yet? Or know how much it costs? I searched but no luck...but if this happens to be cheaper than Proscar I will be saving maybe at least 400$ dollars a year using an FDA approved drug. Can this be bought in the US? Maryland maybe?

TEVA makes a 5mg Proscar version....there is no actual 1mg Propecia version yet.

Sorry for the horrible spelling of the company's name...fixed the title.

TEVA has nothing to do with this btw. I'm asking about Actavis which, according to recent news, makes an FDA approved generic finasteride (in 5mg tablets like Merck's Proscar).

Question is, is it out? What's it's cost and is it available in the US...none of these things I came across during my search.
