Acne

This is the only side effect I've experienced with Propecia (I wouldn't even notice if there was shedding because I don't pay any attention to the amount of hair falling out of my head). I've never had any sort of acne, I think everyone gets the odd blemish now and then, but aside from that it was rare. However I started experiencing some whilst using Propecia and eventually decided to give up because of it. Has anyone else experienced acne using Propecia? Did it go away after a while or was it there the whole time you were taking the tablets?

I have to say that as soon as I stopped taking Propecia the acne disappeared within a week or so, therefore if anyone is contemplating using Propecia don't let this experience put you off by thinking that it causes some irreversible problem.

I would get monster zits when I first started finasteride. Really big ones, almost cystlike. It wasn't pretty but it only lasted a couple weeks and things went back to normal. Btw, was 36 at time and hadn't had a zit in probably 15 years.

How long have you been on Propecia?
I've been on for 10 days, and I'm experiencing the same thing.

I also experienced minimal acne throughout my teens and early adulthood, I found myself getting random spots dotted around my forehead and body withing a few weeks of starting finasteride, it's not too bad but can be a bit annoying.
