Hi everyone,
Just here to see if anyone can help me out with my problem or if anyone has gone through the same thing and found a solution. Here goes:
I took accutane and soon after finishing my course, my hair started to fall out in the male pattern baldness region. I've lost probably 50% of the density up there and developed a bald spot. All within a few months, maybe 3-4 months right after the course. The strange thing is, my hairline is still intact...The oil on my face and scalp have returned with a vengeance though. Nobody in my family has male pattern baldness. I simply traded one problem for another but really, both are still present.
I believe accutane somehow caused the hair follicles in the male pattern baldness region to be much more sensitive to DHT. I'm not sure as what to do. I've read that some people have fixed this problem with the big 3, and some people simply recovered with time but it's been over a year now and I'm still losing so much hair daily (about 50 a day, none from the sides or back and all with the white bulbs). I'm doing the big 3 but still shedding. I can run my hand through my hair and easily pull 3-5 hairs out.
Someone from acne.org said they fixed the problem with colon cleansing but I don't see how that could be the solution. Where's the logic in that? If anything it should be liver cleansing as accutane could cause vitamin A toxicity.
Acne and balding...not a good look and quite the tough battle.
