Hey everyone, hope you are all doing well.
I've been battling hair loss for over 5 years now. Finally after a long and hard time, I accepted it.

Fortunately I have always had a thick and long beard. Recently I lost a few hairs (it is not a round patch), so I do not know if it can still be alopecia, but I know my beard well enough to know it has not happened in the past ever.

I would love to hear if anyone has any other insights or possibilities as to why I have lost hairs on my beard. I did yesterday whilst pulling a few hairs gently, notice two hairs from that area come off with half the hairs from the tip being almost white.

I've had a beard for over 15 years, and it has always been a full, straight beard, no missing patches when I shape the top ever.
Recently I have developed a part that has lost some hairs, which you can see on the top. It is on a lower level than the rest of my beard. While it may not look horrible to some, I have had a beard for over 15 years and it was the only reason I could look past the hair loss on my head. Losing shape or density on my beard will really be a whole new level of frustration. That top part not being completely full is annoying me.

I did have a stressful time the past 1 and a half month with work frustrations, so the only thing I can think of is telogen effluvium?

Thank you in advance for any help.

I don't know why, mine started to look the same also, i really don't what to think about this hair loss thing anymore with beard and all the hair related stuff... Good i grows on my legs and chest lol... Really don't know what to say, i also had a stressful period in my life and i heard that if the stress is not removed the effluvium can transform into chronic one and last until the stress is removed.. And that does not mean that if you have a couple of good days it's gone, i think it's more complicated than that and unfortunately i don't think that somebody has the answer to it, maybe more time is needed, a lifestyle change, bla bla etc

Hey man, thanks for the response. You mean you face a similar issue with your beard, in losing some hairs that showed a patch without hair which didn't exist before?
I was undergoing some interviews and assessments and so I was under some pressure some weeks ago, but that has calmed down drastically. I also am considering shaving it completely in hopes that it all slowly grows back (I doubt this will help).
Just like you, I am hoping it is just the natural telegon phase of the hairs, and it will re grow. I really do hope so.

I don't know why the hairs at the bottom were very light in color when I pulled them though. I hope it doesn't get worse, and slowly better.
I hope someone else has some insight to offer.
