I'v been thinning since 20 and wasn't worried about it until I found out I would be newly single (divorce). I'v accepted I'm loosing my hair and I'm using rogain and nizoral. I'm 27 now. From what I'v been reading the buzz is the why to go. I just wanted some opinions based on my personal hairloss. I used to have REALLY thick hair and it still is in places I'm not thinning. I first noticed my hairline receding and now I'm noticing a horseshoe. Should I buzz? These pics were taken with bathroom lighting. 20160318_190248.jpg20160318_190302.jpg20160318_190313.jpg20160318_190332.jpg

imo buzz it but don't go skin bald. You will still probably see a shadow of the horseshoe, but its better then what you have currently.

Looking at it more, I don't know if its better to buzz or just go skin bald. Wait for more opinions.

I'd imagine your head would look like this if you buzzed it

I dont think I have a lumpy head. I had a buzz when I was a young kid. I don't know if it matters but I fought dandruff for 10 yrs and it disappeared the first time I was prescribed nizoral.

finasteride would be the "right now" solution. As it takes like a year before you see its results. If you start a year from now, might very well be too late. I think finasteride could regrow almost all your hair back - specially crown/vertex, within 2 years.

Well.....I did it. Not sure how I feel about it. I don't think it looks bad but I'd rather have hair. LoL. I started with a 3 and I didn't think it looked good so I went to a 2. Still didn't think it looked good so I went to a 1. Still didn't like it so I did no guard. It looks alright. I might take the razor to it though. I have a good shaped head. I didn't realize my thinning so so extensive in the front. I'm going to talk to my Doctor about getting on finasteride in April and continue minoxidil and nizoral in the meantime. I do feel good about not trying to hide it anymore.

Good for you man, I know how it feels to regain control of the problem. Don't listen to these guys who are obsessed with growing every strand of hair, most of them are nw1.5 who are panicking over a small shed.

I know a guy at work with the same head shape, same skin tone with same exact pattern - he shaves his head and he's a lady's man. The fact he's tall and in good shape helps too but the short haircut doesn't hurt.

Some people here are too afraid of buzzing - they may have legitimate reasons, but don't let their fears make you question your decision. I'm sure it is a great relief to be done with it, so just own it.

On a side note, I 100% agree about getting on finasteride - you are only 27 you have a good chance of regrowing a portion of what you lost. In any case, be comfortable and confident with who you are, that's the most important thing of all.

Well I'm 6'2" and have been working out for the past year hardcore. I went from 292lbs to 195lbs in about 10 months. I'm actually in decent shape right now and its only getting better from here. :)
