Hi,new here, just wanna share my story and seek for possible help

Started my regimen Nov.2014 with daily 1/4 Proscar+ Nizoral shampoo(3x/week)+ Regaine 5% after a long cyber research, even added Folligen to regimen that aiming my hairline since most of my problem is receding hairline.

Till May. 2015, I received thrilling outcome, seemed my hair was thickening and surprising my hairline is restored and many more tiny hair kept coming out.

It all ends at August 2015 when I started my fitness routine.(2-3 times / week)

Shredding appeared without my fully attention cause I assume it might be resulting from cleansing(I stopped using Nizoral), and shredding meant nothing if you have numerous amount of hair to lose (this sentence came out wrong but explicate what I was thinking)

Until Mar. 2016, things turning worse, assumed might be Proscar fail to do the job anymore, so I determined to alter to Dutastaride 0.5mg/day, no magical appears after a month dosage and I stopped taking any nor proceed all regimen mentioned above exclude going to gym.

Shredding continued after 3-4 months gap with itchy scalp and flakes, I reconsidered to take Dutasteride 0.5mg solely every other day after seeing great story of nickpoo, till now 2 months past, shredding has not ceased and my hairline looked like 2 years ago before the interferer of medication,

Please advise kindly,

1. Does working out cause my second time shredding? (feels like my hair fall out especially the leg day and research reported that regularly fitness might increase DHT level)

2. Should I stick with Dutasteride or change back to 1/4 proscar(the one once worked out perfectly) or other dose recommendations?

Update:

Found this doing research:

"Thinning hairlines were the most common complaint. THE VERY PEOPLE WHO WERE USING IT VERIFIED IT !!! "

Does this count for my problem? But I failed to discover any afterwards story with those who endured the same problem but sticked around. Do I point wrongly to fitness?

No unless you use illegal performance boosters; steroids an such. Do you use Creatine? It's a legal supplement. One study showed that it raises DHT-levels, the first weeks you're on it. After that they decrease again. This is the only study done on creatine so it doesn't tell us anything really.

2. Should I stick with Dutasteride or change back to 1/4 proscar(the one once worked out perfectly) or other dose recommendations?

I'm no expert but I believe they work in the same way. Dutasteride is stronger = more effective.

Wait a bit for some more replies.

Thx Michel, so you think the dosage of 0.5mg every other day would be adequate? also, I got no sides whatsoever, believe my body see this chemical no stranger.

Thx Vesemir for your kindly response,

I am aware of booster's side so never get those involved in my protein drinks.

But also heard regular fitness increase testosterone which possibly boost to DHT, would this hinder my hair prospectively? Some would double the dose on the gym day, is this a common approach?

Sorry this is happening to you. I know that just a thinning of he hairline can screw up your whole style.
To be honest I am not unsure that the gym does not increase testosterone and maybe (the conversion rate is not clear) DHT. By the way we do not even know how DHT increases hair loss, since everyone produces DHT but only some (bald people) lose hair because of it.

I myself started to lose more hair since I started going to the gym.

However, finasteride should be more than sufficient to counter the effect (I had suspended it at that time).

You made two mistakes IMHO:
- you started with duta rather than fina. Duta's side effects are worse than fina's. You should have tried out fina and only if fina did not work should you have gone with duta.
- you stopped after a month. In a month you will see nothing. You need six months to evaluate.

Thanks Robert for the reply, maybe I didn't state it clearly, I tried finasteride (1.5mg/day) for almost a year and worked perfectly, it was after I suffered shredding (second time) while started to do fitness that I convert to take dutasteride and quit finasteride.

About side effect, I personally experienced none but read plenty regarding such particularly those who are losing hairline like me.

Since finasteride failed to do the work last time, do you think I should double the dosage if I am considering alter back to finasteride?

Working out increases level of hormones in every way, even e2 production is increased but body converting it to fat and youre burning it so whatever. For me working out with dutasteride is good option, it shouldnt affect your gains and also hairs.

Hello, yes Fitness increases Testosterone, but it doesn't automatically mean hair loss.
If finasteride works, this doesn't mean dutasteride should also help or even better. But I recommend to use dutasteride till 6 month mark, if not better, then you can continue with finasteride.
And don't change a working regimen.

Thx rafiles, the suggestion sounds very reasonable, kinda fear to proceed with dutasteride, (the substitute when finasteride 1.5mg failed on me )since a few do report dutasteride cause receding hairline. What we do?

Oh I didn't see Rogaine, do you still use it. If a regrowth comes from it, then you should continue it.

Fear get the best of me especially I lost all my regrew hair rapidly, read a data that partly respond my doubt yet could not define its validity,

0.5mg/day of Dutasteride :

- increase Serum testosterone about 27%
- increase Scalp testosterone about 104%

are you using datasteride? Endured shred?

I only wanted to write about Rogaine, because if it regrows hair, then yo cannot hold it witd dutasteride or finasteride, therefore I asked if you still continue it. The shedding can also come from minoxidil.

post minoxidil shed !

This is quite provocative! See quite threads regarding this, but does post minoxidil syndrome explains my itchy scalp, inflammation, flake, acne on both face and heads? or might partly relate to increased Testosterone caused by dat?

Could you get any suggestions?

So thats why your shedding. finasteride and minoxidil work two different ways so when u stopped minoxidil you lost regrowth, you probably thought it didnt do anything or it was finasteride. If u started dutasteride id suggest you stick with it for a year. Lifting could cause a shed but not a continued one if ur using finastrade, its most likely you stopping minoxidil.
