Hey guys here are my pics http://www.hairlosshelp.com/websites/da_jackal/

I'm not sure whether my hair is thinning or not. My hair follicles have always been spaced apart, i.e. naturally diffuse but i dno y but I am suddenly paranoid. I also think my crown is thinning, tho every1 sez that has also been that way, and that it is not thinning.

Family: fathers dad's side has male pattern baldness, dad is almost 50, back has just started thinning, mothers side no male pattern baldness

what do u guys think based upon the pictures (about my crown and my hair in general)

thank u

it's thinning a bit, yes. Your hairline is down to your eyebrows though, might be a good thing if you redede a bit.

very strange indeed. Never seen anyone with hair that thin naturally, but yes, your 10-year old pic does seem to confirm it.

Bad news is that if you DO start to thin, it will have immediate cosmetic effect.

But that's for the future, may not happen for decades :)

You are definately growing a bald spot up there, and it looks like some diffuse thinning as well. Or maybe thats just your natural thin hair - but you are definately getting a bald spot so start doing something.

sumtyms i think I am sumtyms i dnt...I'm a paranoid person i guess...i am more conscious of it than i was a few years ago...plus the fact that I have had long hair for most of my life, and only recently styled it short doesn't help

thinning is NOT the only reason gaps show

I have seen many 10 yr-olds with short haircuts, who show quite a lot of scalp AT CERTAIN ANGLES under bright light, just like your photo. So remember one thing: if you cut your hair shorter than a certain length, scalp will always show through at some angles, more so with lengths shorter than the "critical" length. The critical length is somewhat less for those with thick hair, but even thick hair will show a lot of scalp at certain angles at a very short length (say less than 1cm)
Secondly, if your hair is wet or greasy, more scalp will show through than when dry. Try this: don't wash your hair for 2 or 3 days, take a photo of it under bright lights, wash it well, let it dry, and then take another photo under the same lighting. Trust me, there will be more than a slight difference.
Your crown MAY be thinning slightly, but I have seen people with that pattern naturally. The real test is: do the hairs in the area of supposed thinning grow as long as the surrounding hair? Are they as dark and thick? If yes, then you have no need to worry. As for your top, I think its OK.
Cheers,
Arjun
