A years supply of finasteride (Merck not generic) for under £10?!

If i am right, Propecia on private perscription in the UK is 45 pound per month. However, Proscar (5mg), my doctor told me is just under £10 per month.

So, if your Doctor prescribed you Proscar and prescibed it in a 3 month package (i'm sure of the term for this but basically you get 3 months supply for the price of one) A 3 month supply of Proscar would equal a years supply of Propecia (each pill cut into 4s = 120 x 1.25mg of Propecia per month, thus 3 months of Proscar = 360 x 1.2mg of finasteride.

Thus, if i am right, anyone in the UK can technically get - depending if their Doctor will prescribe it - a years supply of Merck 1.25mg Finasteride for under a tenner a year???

Either way that thread mentions inhouse and I got my lot from there about 60-70 quid years supply not bad, I think spending £200-£250 quid per year on my Hair for the big 3 combo is a small price too pay frankly thats like a months supply of fags/booze and pointless eating out

Yeah but you can't just go into your doctors and ask for Proscar.

You would have to lie about your symtoms (eg can't pass water indicating enlarged prostate) and then you'd probably get a 1 month supply and if you wanted more you'd have to insist the Proscar hasn't yet worked - in which case you'd probably be referred to a specialist consulatant for your problem and you'd really be telling some lies.

It is in theory correct, but In practice difficult to do.

I think if you try to blag that your prostate is duff you will find yourself with a doctors fist up your arse and numerous blood and ultrasound tests, I have been there :hump:

Your doctor will almost certainly not prescrible proscar for hairloss because they may not of made the link that propecia and proscar are the same.
