I recently started using Nizoral 1% shampoo due to the numerous recommendations here; however, I can indeed say that it does cause shedding, or at least for me. Moreover, I think that this is the "bad" kind of shedding because it seems reactive and not the type of shedding that preceeds growth. FYI, I been using it for three weeks now (every third day and left on scalp for approx 3-5 minutes) and almost every time there is an markedly increase in shedding, or rather, hair lost after shampooing--probably at least double what I usually lose. Some of my hair continues to fall out after I towel dry and comb my hair.
Nevertheless, I think Nizoral it is a good shampoo. Additionally, I also experienced shedding with other dandruff shampoos. So I guess when I shampoo I think I'll just leave it in my hair for a shorter time or use it less often. It really does a good job at stopping an itchy scalp.
Just wondering what anyone else's response is when using Nizoral. Thanks
