im about to start my finasteride journey and have read alot. i feel like a hair loss specialist.

On thinking of the future , providing finasteride works , 5yrs down the line ( being well) it will lose its effect. Is there options after this. eg. Does dutasteride take up on where was left with finasteride? or is the finasteride route merely a chance at holding out to that holy 'cure'

My question is .. what is the bigger picture?

adieu

The bigger picture is simply to hold onto your hair until there is a cure, or you're old enough not to care as much.

If finasteride loses effect, you can try other things.....topicals/dutasteride etc. The chances are these won't be as effective, but will slow down the rate in which you lose what finasteride has helped you keep/gained.
