Okay, so keto is basically only used in external form by way of shampooing, correct? I know it is a weak anti-androgen, but how does it work? Does it really block the DHT binding to the androgen receptor inside hair follicle?

I mean, you don't reject keto or swallow it in a pill form, you put it on your head! Does your body really absorb the keto solution?

Thanks

Theres no proof/studies proving that it is an aantiandrogen, it's for cleaning your scalp from impurities. People speculate it blocks some dht though. Could be right or could be wrong.

So, are they any proven effective anti-androgen? finasteride and dutasteride are 5AR inhibitor, they prevent normal Testosterone to be converted to DHT, but does not block any Testosterone to bind to androgen receptor. So it would be nice to have some form of AR inhibitor while still taking finasteride.

Ketoconazole is a mild anti-androgen along with its main purpose as an anti-fungal. How much DHT it actually blocks isn't established; probably not much. There are a limited number of studies suggesting Keto shampoo's benefit in treating Androgenetic Alopecia though.

Okay so Ketoconazole itself is a mild anti-androgen, but how effective it is for our body to absorb it into our body when it's only applied as shampoo?

I know there is a pill form, but it's been discontinued sold as pills if I'm not mistaken.

Ketoconazole is a mild anti-androgen, it does have an anti DHT effect when applied topically. The treatment itself for Androgenetic Alopecia is rather weak though, it won't do a whole lot. It is best used in the form of a shampoo since Ketoconazole is so good at cleansing the hair and scalp, creating a perfect environment for topical treatments.

I see, that's good to know. I'm going to add that into my regime. Thanks.
