A question for diffuse thinners

Hey guys.

I turned 24 in July and have been diffusing for little over a year. I would diagnose my self as a NW3 (Receding at the temples but hair thinning all over) and by the rate I'm going I think I could be a NW4 by next year. I've tried meds such as finasteride, which worked but got fed up with the sides (Trouble getting erections, loss of libido etc) with out medication or cosmetic treatment I'm destined for a NW5 at least judging by uncles and grandfather on mothers side.

My question to diffusers: What pattern did your hair fall out and how long did it take until you got to a NW5 - 6 ... I want to know how long I've got.

Thanks.

Do you remember how long it took your uncles to reach NW5? Even then, there's really no easy way to predict how long it will take for your hair to progress to a certain level. Me and my uncle are both diffuse thinners, but I think his thinning started later than mine did; he started shaving his head entirely in his early 30s, and even at that point his thinning was no more noticeable than mine now at 26.

Thanks for the reply guys.

Swoop, I have heard about RU but I wouldn't know where to get it and isn't it complicated to use? Don't you have to make a solution? I think you're right about my hair progressing to a NW5 - I would be open to a hair transplant ... but come on .... when does it look good on a NW5?

DPAMan, As far as I know my uncles started to bald in their 30's - I think I'm elaborating about them being NW5, maybe NW3-4 with a bald spot at the vertex - My grandfather definitely reached a NW5 by 40. Sad thing is that my hairloss seems to have kicked in really early.

I was on regaine foam for a good 2 years but the hair shedding started to overshadow the benefits.

Thanks for the info there dusty, really interesting stuff there on RU. Do you take it yourself? The only off putting thing for me is the unknown aspects about the drug, like long term effects etc.

For the meantime I'm going to take .25 finasteride eod (to avoid sides) and get back onto minoxidil then ween onto RU. I'll keep people up to date.

I mix it myself but which is very easy but many people buy premade solutions.

I am still debating whether or not I should use it myself. The safety is the biggest worry for me. Some of it does probably get in the blood stream and the safety of using RU long term is questionable.
Also I understand why you are taking such a small dosage of finasteride but I am on full blown dutasteride and I don't experience sides.

Dusty, have you ever taken finasteride before? I'm tempted to try dutasteride but i think logically if I'm experiencing sides from finasteride I will experience them on dutasteride.

I just reread your original post and yea definitely don't get on dutasteride if you have sides from finasteride.
I took finasteride for a year before starting dutasteride
