A few questions on B-complex and niacin

I'd been taking regular B-complex (no niacin, brown ones) pills three times a day for the past eight months-or-so. About a week ago, upon hearing the benefits of niacin, I started taking B-complex pills containing 18mg of niacin. I take these only once a day (it's the recommended dose) .
Now, I've read that in order to initiate hair regrowth, one must experience the niacin flush, which is achieved by taking a slight overdose of niacin. However, I am told this may damage my heart.
My questions are the following:

Do I need the niacin flush to initiate hair regrowth?
If yes, will it damage my heart or cause long-term side effects to my body?
If these are taken only once a day, does it mean that I am not taking as much B-vitamins as I used to with the regular (brown) pills?
If so, would taking one with niacin and two regulars be a good idea?

Those are my main concerns. I will post the contents of the pills if needed, and/or provide additional info.
Advice on how how much niacin I'll need daily, as well as when and how to take it will be very appreciated.
I need the hair benefits, but I gotta know if it's safe first.
Thanks in advance :D
