A few questions about these products and a particular brand?

Hi,

First post on this forum.

21 years old, whole family has hair. I had very thick hair up until 18 when I suddenly had a major shed and never properly recovered. B@stard.

I have a weird shape of head (lol) and to me, its pretty essential I hang on to my hair. It's always been very important to me, as I am sure it has to all of you reading this - hence why you are on this forum in the first place.

Let me share a picture with you before I ask my question(s), so you can have a wee peek at what has brought me here today. I have retained a thick head of hair at the back, and the crown is largely unaffected. My issue is my "receder" and thinning at the front of the head. This is of course only going to get worse with age I fear.

To me, going bald is simply not an option. Like many of you, I have literally trawled through hours of forums reading one positive review of product X getting rubbished by one negative review on the next website etc. It's left me really confused on where to go with this and, to be honest, I'm pretty much praying I'm going to have a genius come on here, and tell me "this is what you need to do 1, 2, 3..." and boom, I can throw money at a product and live happily everafter - providing useful feedback along the way.

Anyway, to the questions:

1. I've read a lot about Rogaine (lotion or gel) not working at all well at the front of the head, especially the corners. Does anyone have differential opinions? Obviously this is important to me as my crown is fine.

2. I've looked at how to apply these things to you hair, but it's not clear to me if you are then able to gel/style your hair afterward?

3. And finally... I read up on this product called "ProRestora". It absolutely hammered Rogaine on quite a few other websites, and each place I go it gets a fantastic write-up. Only problem is it seems scarcely available and I can't find a UK retailer. Anyone have further information on this?

Thanks in advance and good luck in your own battles!

Pete.

Yes minoxidil does not work very well on the hair loss region for most people. I have had success on the hair loss with the Rogaine foam not to a great extent but have grown some tiny dark hairs. But I started treatment at the very first sign of thinning.

Thanks for the replies guys, I appreciate your taking the time to answer me.

Having read through a bit more of this now, I'm thinking my regime will consist of:

Rogaine Foam in the morning
Kirkland at night
Supplemented by Nizoral shampoo.

I hope the foam dries in fast? I always gel my hair.

Thanks

Pete
