I used to use this site years ago, just decided to update that yes Avodart £44 pounds a month from Independent Pharmacy has helped me massively and has almost contained nearly every strand of hair. This is impressive as almost every man in my family is bald. I just turned 30 and it is still working its magic. Zero side effects in that time and I hope some of you begin to see how good this medication is in keeping your hair. Cheers

I can remember thinking that you using dutasteride was a bit overkill but now I understand why. I slowly lost density on finasteride over the years without really realizing. I wish that I just started on dutasteride.

And I wish I never used it in the first place. totally wrecked my hair. Everbody reacts differently to hormonal drugs. But oral min 2.5mg twice a day is great. I lose just a few hairs daily now it was alot more before I started.

Worked very well for me but side effects were too much.

I do wonder if E2 could be monitored/controlled it might be worth another try, maybe with vit D3 for libido.
I cant even tolerate finasteride. It gives me exactly the same sexuall side effect as dutasteride did. Im also a total non responder to dht inhibitation.

Six years on dutasteride with zero sides and full retention at 30 with a strong family history. That's about as good an outcome as this medication can produce.

Posts like this don't get enough attention compared to the side effect stories. Thanks for coming back to share it.

I am also very sensitive to the side effects of DHT blockers - tried spironolactone for a short spell and also noticed it from that. But duta worked great for me.

No point you using if it doesn't work but for libido I find vit D3 so effective I actually don't take it anymore, so it could be perfect for countering duta sexual sides if E2 could be controlled with an aromatase inhibitor.

What do you think causes your hairloss if duta doesn't work?

I have low T for my age always had since age 20. Cant grow a full beard even. Lower end of normal anyway. But my libido has always been amazing even at 38. And penis is super responsive.

Yeah I looked up testosterone and it seems it's not so much of a factor, hence the edit. So if you have low T then you also have low DHT which would explain the beard issues since DHT is the main driver there, but the hair seems unusual as if there is another cause for that.

What causes it only god knows. Im nw2 with diffuse thinning. Duta sped it up alot for 1.5 years, (no hair sheds just thinning) Hair started thinning super slow after quitting duta. Maybe it caused some hormonal imbalance or im sensitive to high T because duta can raise scalp and serum T alot more than finasteride. I got very strong on duta btw. Im demodexmitesexterminator btw this is my main acc.

Strange. I did some quick research which suggested maybe telogen effluvium due to hormonal changes. If you haven't already, ask a good AI agent.

Telogen effluvium is when you lose alot of hair. Dutaststeride reduced my daily hairfall by 50%. Yet rapid thinning and sexuall sides. I have read and seen pics of men experiencing the same thinning issue on dutasteride.

My thinking is its mostly an issue (usually inflammation) that makes DHT park itself around the follicle so low DHT levels overall arent going to matter much.

Lawton you do realise that scalp inflammation has symptoms?? Itchness/redness/tenderness/excessive hairfall/burning feeling. I have zero of these symptoms.

For many people but I never had the itching people talk about as my vertex balding spread throughout the years. Maybe mine was low enough not to trigger that.

I will drop the oral min. Just use finasteride m,w.f. I need to know if it works or not. I cant know if im also on min. Because im gonna have to live with sexuall sides so I need to know if it will be worth being on finasteride. I will ofc use the alc/oleic acid like the study x3 times a week hopefully. Also min blocks dht and androgen related functions making sides possibly worse.
