Hi,

I’ve been using finasteride and minoxidil for about six months now with good results. I still have a few bottles off minoxidil left but wondering what will happen if I stop apply minoxidil?

My first doctor told me to use both and my second doctor that I can stop using minoxidil. Don’t really know what to do and don’t what to lose any results that I built up the last six months...

Thankful for all input!

That is why you should never start with 2 treatment at the same time: you don't know which is contributing to which degree individually. Hair that was gained because of minoxidil will be lost if you stop minoxidil, even if you are on finasteride.

Ohh, that makes the decision quite easy... I will continue using minoxidil! I’ve heard that minoxidil loses its effect after a few years? Do you know if that true?

Thanks for you reply!
