5 Years On Propecia, My Thoughts And Feelings

So this month marks 5 years since I took my first pill aged just 19. I was very hesitant, very anxious, very scared after reading about propecia.I know alot of people browsing this forum will be of a similar mind set. Did I make the right decision?

I would say 1000% yes. Propecia has kept my hair and added alot of new hairs to my current hairline. Even 5 years in I am still seeing new hairs which is the best feeling.

Would I recommend the drug to people considering it? Yes; however please consider the side effects, they are very scary and I do believe the majority of people who say they have had them.

I know this forum can be very negative and people, myself included, can go to a very dark place.

I just want people to know that if they are willing to take the risk then there is a good chance they can continue their lifes with a full head of hair.

If the thing such as the big three is still floating about then I would also recommend the shampoo as well. The minoxidil foam not so much.

You’d say you have more hair now than you did when you started finasteride?

So what side effects you had?

You’d say you have more hair now than you did when you started finasteride?

Did you go through shed? If so, how long did it last?

Yes to all these questions!

I got ball ache which I was scared of initially, and was sleepy as well, the sleepy part went away when I took in the morning and the ball ache does return if I don't take it for like 4/5 days. I only take it 2/3 times a week ATM.

Yes I used to not have enough hair to spike up my front as a nw2 now I am close to a nw1

Yes! Difficult to say but definitely a few months at least. maybe just more than 6 months. Used to wear gel and have a hand full of hair when I was done.

Did you lose any density during the shedding? Particularly in the crown or midscalp region?

Glad to hear another success story, many people obsess about side effects on propecia, but most sides are in people's heads. Most sensible people realise the drug is the only thing that attacks male pattern baldness at the source. It definitely did so for you.
