Im a 40 Year Old Male experiencing hair loss from my mid 20’s

I 1st noticed my thinning when I was +/-24 Years old and being unemployed and a student at the time I never had the finance to try and do anything about it. I opted to go for low-level laser treatment and they also gave me some topical solution to apply and some capsules. I was very disappointed with the results and even opted to stop that treatment a month before the sessions should have ended. I saved up for another year or so and went for my 1st transplant which I think I expected to much from as I never got the coverage I expected over my crown area. I was also put onto Finpecia (Finistaride) after the transplant and have been on Finpecia since then. The only good thing about the transplant was that the transplanted hair seems to have remained intact but the surrounding hair all started diminishing over the past 5-10years… I felt despondent ad very self-conscious to the point where going to the beach or jumping in a swimming pool was a big No-No for me and I always used concealers since then and wear a baseball cap daily. But I kept going with Finistaride over the past few years and even used minoxidil 5% in between from time to time but never kept using it for more than 6months.

30 Days ago I decided to jump back onto minoxidil and also decided to buy myself a USB 500x Microscope to properly monitor the growth. I also added a 0.5mm derma roller which I use 1-2 times per week. To my surprise I’ve seen quite a few hairs sprouting in under 30days of use… (see pics below). I have a 6month supply of minoxidil so I will diligently keep using it without fail to see where ill end up coverage wise by the end of month 6. I basically just want to inform new hair loss sufferers to not do what I did and not to get despondent and stop/resume treatment like I did… Be disciplined and diligent and stick stick to your regimen, I’d highly recommend the Finistaride/minoxidil/Derma-Roller regimen as it seems to work really well. I just wish I did this and stuck to it a few years ago…

I dont think that i will get full coverage at my age, but i suppose partial coverage is better vs nothing and i would also need less concealer...

Good news; at your age, the loss will be slower.
Also, keep the regiment and use concealers.
The slower the process, the easier it is to accept / deal with.
