4 Months on propecia

Ive been on propecia for 4 months now. The most of the time on proscar cut into 5ths and now finpecia 1mg for 12 days. I know every treatment needs 9 months at least before giving up. But im just worried that my condition is getting worse and what im doing isnt helping.

Basically im not seeing any change. Nothing. For a while i could run my hands through my hair and nothing would come out this was about 1 month in, but since then its the same as before i started one or two hairs coming out off the top of my head nothing from the back and sides.

At first i thought it may be a shed but its not coming out that much, just like it did before i started treatment. I'm a very bad diffuse thinner i have a 3 shaved all over and even in a dark club you can see dim light reflecting off my head. So i can't really afford to let things get worse.

I'm not sure what to do. Any advice.

You might want to try adding minoxidil and retin a. I saw amazing results after 4 months. Unless
you try it you will never know if the combo works for you. Some might also say
to stick things out and see what happens... but 4 months seems to be a long time
to me.

I tried minoxidil by itself about 10 years ago and had no results, but the combo of
the big 3 I think is what worked for me.

Rickywatts, I am having the exact same experience rite now. I am 4 months into fincar 1/5th per day. Good stronger hair the first month and then the usual number of hair coming out on the top. (I dont think this can be called a shed). Having said that, it has definitely increased the overall number of hair on my head (although i havent compared pictures). Also there was this region on my front center scalp right behind the hairline that was thinning like crazy. finasteride has definitely filled this spot in to some extent (its still not decently dense though...i supplement it with a bit of toppik). The temples are the same...no luck there).

I would like to think that it will keep getting better only if it wasnt for the same number of pillow/shower hair as before finasteride. I am really not ready for minoxidil yet as the shed and lifelong commitment to a topical scare me. I feel that I ought to make finasteride a bit more effective (without increasing dosage). finasteride users, any comments would be appreciated. (Open to natural supplements as well.)

Hey guys thanks for the replies. I have minoxidil in the house i bought it with the propecia. When i first started but i don't like to use it for a few reasons. I don't want to get my hair "addicted" to it. I'm also a diffuse thinner and i find it hard to fill the head with the dropper. I am already quite hairy and i really don't want it to get worse.

I'll note i have been using nizoral also for the past 4 months every second day. I think right now my hair is the worst its ever been, for example just there now i ran my hand through my hair and there was 1 left on my hand.

That happens pretty much every time. Not sure what to do.

your hair will always fall out no matter what treatment you are on....

What counts is whether that hair grows back as thick (or maybe thicker!) than before. Don't count hairs, it's not indicitave of the success of any treatment and it'll drive you mad.

The only way to guage success is to take good consistant photo's.

Whats really worring me too is that ive just switched to finpecia from united pharmacies 13 days ago now and when i opened the package i thought it didn't look legitimate. The proscar box looked alot more prefessional than the finpecia does. Now im getting alot of hair coming out, just ran my hand over my head and had at least 12 and thats the ones i can see because my hair is about a shaved 3 at the minute.

I suppose this means it could be a shed. But its a bit weird it happens 13 days i switched over to the dodgy looking finpecia. I'm kinda worried i havent got genuine stuff and thats why my hair is coming out again.

I get generic proscar from united pharmacies and it seems to be legit from my results. I think the
bad rep from bad drugs would be too risky for united pharmacies so I bet they take precautions to
make sure it's all good stuff.
