I've noticed a receding (on one side) hairline and thinning hair, especially over the past year. I have low testosterone, and dht levels. I have a suspected thyroid issue based on my TSH, high thyro-globulin antibodies, experiencing several hypo symptoms as well, yet to meet a doctor that will diagnose or prescribe me anything beyond treating testosterone.
I've checked other labs, vitamin D, Iron, B12, Zinc, etc. have all come out good. So, this led me to believe that I'm simply experiencing male pattern baldness and DHT is the prob, which is leading me to consider using Finasteride. However, I do find it odd that my hair loss is due to male pattern baldness based on my labs, I'm also concerned I might be more at risk for sides based on these values if I do decide to use finasteride.
Wondering if anyone here has experience using finasteride with such low values beforehand?
DHT: 32 ng/dL (Ref: 30-85)
Prolactin: 12.5 ng/mL (Ref: 4.0-15.2)
Estradiol: 23.4 pg/mL (Ref 7.6-42.6)
Testosterone: 365 ng/dL (Ref: 264-916)
TSH: 3.650 uIU/mL
T4: 0.99 ng/dl
