New member, 30 years old, up until 3 months ago full head of hair.

Have had very itchy scalp and lots of scalp acne recently, hair is massively thinning all over, but not in the temples or crown, right in the middle mainly!

Barber says it doesn't look normal, more like when ppl are sick, says my hair looks like it just stopped growing in some spots, leaving weird holes.

Is this male pattern baldness???? I have a blood test tomorrow, just doesn't seem right at all, I don't see anyone on the street with this kind of hairloss (a few evenly thinning all over, but not down the middle?)

I'm otherwise healthy male, work out, normal weight, no illness or anything...

Any thoughts? Will it grow back?

Pics are with flash in the bathroom, regular lighting isn't this bad but very hard to hide....

Doesn't look typical, but it doesn't look extremely suspicious, either. The hairline is receded a little bit (probably mature hairline, or NW2), and it's possible that you have diffuse type thinning.

Did you just get into a new job? Or was there a major change in your life? Thanks.

There is hairloss on both sides, but both in the opposite directions. Fathers side all had pointed hairlines at an early age, that eventually turn into a strong V in middle age, but the middle stays healthy looking. No bald spots until very late in life.

Mothers is the opposite, bald spots that eventually creep forward, there's a bit more hairloss overall on this side.

But I seem to be taking a totally different road and dissolving right up the middle, all in a few months....I always figured I'd have my fathers hair genes since I got the pointed hairline in my early 20's.

Also the point about major life change, 9 months ago I moved to a new country for a new job....but I don't recall really stressing about it, unless it's some kind of change of environment type of thing...?

Every condition has some level of environmental influence. But it also depends on how strong a genetic predisposition is.

Does the job require a lot of thinking or analysis and requires you to sit for extended periods? Before this, were you on a similar job?

Thanks for replying, BTW.

seconded :)

I do think health plays a significant role in hair loss but if you say you feel totally healthy then.. I dunno man.

Is your digestion ok? I think digestion is the biggest thing because it's one of the main causes of increasing toxins in the body and hormonal imbalances.

Anyway.. yeah other than that.. I dunno really.

get blood tests, looks weird

some people do get "female" pattern baldness, which is usually a thinning down the middle of the head, instead of diffuse all over the top

Ok this might sound stupid of me, but actually my digestion has been very messed up the past year with a lot of bloating.... I just never read much into it as I've been eating foods I'm not used to given I moved to a new country. My wife always comments how much I burp these days, never used to before.

Will the blood test I took yesterday pick that up? If not what should I be looking into?

Just an update, got my blood back and looks like something could be up. Tests came back as anemic (wtf), although Doctor said I wasn't 'extremely anemic' in his opinion to be causing hairloss....he gave me Iron and B12, said take them for 30 days and come back for another blood test before jumping to conclusions / more tests.

All in all he didn't really seem to care much about getting to the root of things, guy was an older NW7 up top himself, so arguing about my lesser hairloss causing me grief seemed like it would get me nowhere.

This probably isn't he right forum then to ask about this kind of hairloss if that is the cause, but by all means if anyone has any insight or thoughts, please offer away.

Thanks.

it doesnt look too bad yet, (even with a flash, which makes it look thinner)

however ur the one with the knowledge of wat it looked like 3 months ago compared to now. If those spots did appear in 3 months then yes that is weird, thats not male pattern baldness, and there is something else going on. If however its been building for yrs, then u could just be a diffuse thinner.

my advice.

obviously a blood test is a good place to start, but std blood tests dont test for heavy metals, unless u ask, which is ok for chronic heavy metal poisoning, because heavy metals especially mercury do not stay in blood for very long, but for acute poisoning, it is useful.

im bringing up heavy metals, because u have moved to a new country, with a different water supply. A hair analysis done by MASS SPECTROMETRY can show traces, then specific urine analysis following EDTA, for conclusive evidence. (a hair analysis on its own isnt really conclusive enough) but is can give u a good idea.

Its important the company uses mass spectrometry ( which is a machine used to detect chemcials, steroids, drugs, minerals, elements etc) because it can conclusively show which atoms are present because it measures their weight.
older methods have been proven to be untrustworthy.

also i'd start using a anti-fungal, such as nizoral 2% (ketoconazole), because fungal infections can look like ur picture. perhaps ringworm? (ringworm is a fungal infection, not a worm. lol) also a new country, new house, u could have been exposed to a mould.

u can get this from a pharmacy. blood test from ur doctor (ask for heavy metals test), hair analysis from a dermatologist or trichologist(but dont rely on a trichologists diagnosis, just use them to get the test, from company 'doctors data'), and to get EDTA urine test u have to see probably a toxicologist.

in all honesty this can be hard, health care doesnt have good policies on this.

the quickest thing to do, if blood test shows nothing (and it probably will, because the ranges are so wide) if get nizoral 2% and get a shower filter, and start taking the supplments glutathione, and N-acetyl cysteine, + probiotics, and a good natural multivitamin, such as chlorella or Chyawnprash, or a superfood. NOT SYNTHETIC VITAMINS.

this will kill any fungus if its there, and be harmless ( if used short term), chelate any heavy metals, if there, while keeping normal flora in check, and keeping minerals balanced. (as heavy metals are removed, u also lose good minerals, so these need to be supplmented.) and the shower filter will block chlorine and heavy metals. from having any further adverse effects.

u can take these steps without waiting for tests. The only thing ommitted is the possibility of the fluoride in the water ( if ur country uses it) having an effect ( and i dont know that it does, but its possible). i dont know of any way to stop this other than reverse osmosis filtering.

can u trust me?, my sources?, i am a medical science student, i do alot of microbiology, and i have personal experience with heavy metal poisoning.\

hope this helps.

well even though ur Doctor dosent consider it anough to affect ur hair, it sound like u have ur answer.

all of my advice was based on assuming nothing was found in blood.

ur very lucky, usually ppl have to dig deeper.

imo, aenmia could very well be the cause. if iron and b12 doesnt help, try my advice. if it does help, then thanks for playing. :punk:
