Think that you're starting to have some very weak baby hair growing in the temples but extremely hard to determine with the pictures

One thing for sure imo is that your hair didn't get worse which is what finasteride is supposed to do!
Even if you wouldn't get any regrowth your hair looks pretty good right now and who knows maybe that your temples will get smaller in the next 2 years :)

Thanks for your input, appreciate you taking the time.

Would you consider my crown to be slightly thinning and would you agree that I’m around a Norwood 2.5?

There's maybe a very early thinning of the crown but I don't think that it should be a big deal since the finasteride works really well on it.
Also I doubt that you are a 2.5, think it's either 1.5 or 2 :)

Honestly at this point you will probably maintain your hair like this for a couple decades so as long as you take finasteride you shouldn't worry about your hair :p

Well, you certainly are very optimistic.

Unfortunately it is beyond NW2, theres no doubt... I guess the pictures are quite deceiving as I tried to only capture the recession, but in actuality it aligns more with a Norwood 3 with simply some extra hair in the corners.

I do agree with you though, it probably will last while Im on finasteride, the matter is just how long do I really wanna be on a hormonal pill... 20, 30% of my life? Haha. A transplant to make things look better in a couple years almost solidifies my time on finasteride, which is scary as sides could hit after the transplant and then Id have to go off which would leave with a thick transplant region and sh*t scalp everywhere else.

Jesus, hair loss sucks ***, especially so young.

I went from extremely thick NW0 to a thin NW1/1.5 hairline in only a couple of months and the finasteride so far seems to have stopped the hairloss. I doubt that I will ever go back to NW0 but I am happy that I did something about my hair before it gets too late n.n

Well you seem like a very genuine guy with smarts.

Truth be told I was the same age as you when I started it’s just I always didnt think about it/tried to forget about it.

In actuality theres nothing wrong with the process, almost every man goes through it, theres just miscommunication with our feeble young minds at this age hence we fight it.

Sadly there is no marketable cure yet and finasteride is far from it. My plan is to delay it as long as I feel necessary for my mental health to not just get dicked. Asking more than that in a situation like this is simply deceiving both your time and effort. But hey, whatever makes you happy and get through the night.

BTW a Norwood 1/1.5 isnt a big deal at all, in fact once your out of high school and into a larger population like a college campus youll realize almost everyone is on the same level as you, so you got nothing to worry about. Live happy man, appreciate you taking the time to comment on this.

Yeah, finasteride is far from a cure but we're also lucky to have it as it's the only thing that is actually effective long-term against genetics based hairloss. :) It's better to see the drug as a way to pause the balding process rather than a way to stop it, meaning that it will work as long as you take it.

To be fair I'm already extremely happy that I can atleast pause the process for a couple decades, we are not really sure of how effective it is life-term wise since it's only been out for about about 2 decades n_n
