27 months on propecia + a few pics

Having been a user for a while now I suppose I’m allowed to comment on the products effectiveness. I started losing hair in October 2001. The following 6 months were what I would call the worst nightmare imaginable. Got on Propecia in July 2002 and after a few dodgy months everything settled down. I still shed, usually a lot in summer for some reason. Apart from that it’s pretty quiet. My hairline is close to what it was 2 years ago; temples are still a problem though. I started minoxidil about a year ago, but it hasn’t done a whole lot. Forgive the pics, I’m not terribly good at taking photos of the top of my head.

Your hair looks pretty good now as far as I can see in the pics. Maybe thinning very slightly at the widow's peak.

The question is, ahat was your hair like when you started the finasteride?

Are you saying you've regrown at all, or just maintained?

I don't think it is thinning. On the second picture the hair is wetter than in the first. Your hair looks good. Being an 18 monther its encouraging to see someone 2 and a bit years down the road holding out well.

Are you still seeing any regrowth?

I finally have a visual aid! tomsmith, your hairline (the actual shape, not necessarily the thin/thick factor) looks almost identical to mine, and I've been trying to figure out what to make of it lately, annoying everyone on here in the process since I don't have a digital camera and can't show anything.

Looks pretty good, from what I can see.

Hey Tom,

Thanks for posting your pics. Hang in there. You're on the straight and narrow path. It may be boring and you may miss out on all the sexy exciting bandwagon products "all the other sites" are using, but at least you wont end up with any alopecia-std's ....

:D

tomsmith,

Looking good bro!!!

Although my pics when my hair is dry may not look it, when my hair is wet like yours was my hair is very similar to yours.... slightly thinner up front thick in the back....

Stick with the proven treatments bud and I wish you the best of luck :)

You have just about a perfect male hairline. If you had any less of a hairline you would have a woman's hairline. Anyway, I hope you can keep it.

Thanks for the replies. I actually gelled my hair before I took pics to get it as tight back as possible. In response to AKA – Maintenance is what Propecia has done for me. I can honestly say at this point that I’m not sure if the effects are physical or purely psychological. Whatever the case, I know I’m doing all I can and at least it allows me to focus my mind and energy on other things. Later!
