Hi everyone,
I thought I'd start a thread documenting my hair loss journey and update it every month with progress photos.
I'm 25 and started taking finasteride around 1.5 years ago, then added 5% topical minoxidil a few months later. The time flew by quickly, and my hair has grown a lot, but I want to grow it as much as I can. Like a lot of people here, I found it really difficult to tell whether my treatment was actually working because every progress photo looked different depending on the lighting, angle and distance.
That frustration actually led me to build my own app called Follicle - Hair Growth Tracker. I made so I could take consistent progress photos using a Ghost Overlay camera (places an old transparent photo over the live camera), compare them fairly over time, and keep a journal of treatments, shedding and anything else that might affect my progress. I've included a screenshot below as it's what I'll be using throughout this journey.
My plan is to update this thread every month with new photos, any changes to my routine, and say what's working/not working.
Hopefully it will be useful for anyone else starting treatment or wondering what long-term progress actually looks like.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and following everyone else's journeys too.
EDIT: Title is meant to say "1.5 year", sorry!
