25 yo, losing hair?

Hi, im 25 and recently started noticing my hairline has been receding. The only person in my family with any hair loss is my moms dad, who at 70 had a pretty decent amount of hair, really only a receded hairline. I went to a hair specialist, and was told i had nothing to worry about, and kind of hurried me out, but my hair is definitely doing something. Thanks for your thoughts.

Great hair dude. I'm 25 too and have temple recession to about where you are. I'm pretty sure this is male pattern baldness. If you jump on finasteride and minoxidil right now, you may be able to go many, many years with that hair. As it stands now, no one but the overly-obsessed on this board would think you were balding at all.

How many hairs do you estimate you lose in the shower when you wash your hair?

Thanks for your replies! I actually saw a hair transplant Doctor, and i just kept getting the same response "People here would kill for that hair. Im not actually sure of how many hairs im losing, really dont even know how to check.

Yeah it definitely looks like the beginning of it. But thank God you caught it now. As you can see from the first picture in that second set of 3 pics you posted, there are very small hairs on your temple. That's miniaturization. Soon they'll die off, and the same process with continue further and further back up your hair line.

When you shampoo, and look at your hands, do you notice a bunch of hair on them?

AH, yes ive done that a few times. I have yet to notice anything. Since there is minaturization does that mean its a GUARANTEE that it will continue to recede?

Whether or not it's actually receding, I can't say definitively just by looking at your photos. However, I can say that your hair, as it currently stands, is thick as Hell. Your hairline looks pretty distinguished if you ask me, and I'd love to have it to be honest. It sort of looks like Henry Cavill's, aka Superman, hairline...and that dude is handsome as f*ck (no homo).

My hairline is pretty much the same as yours though I would say you have a denser hairline and more hair on your temples. Yes you ARE receding but it could happen very quickly or it could be very drawn out. My seems to be drawing out at the moment. It stared when I was around 22-23. I would say it is now speeding up for me and I believe I will be NW3 fully very soon.

Enjoy what you have at the moment. Wear your hair the best you can while you have it. Yea Henry cavil does look good but I think the will of receded quite heavily in the next 5 years and it's not to bad for him as he has a very masculine face.
