Hello. I have noticed the past few years that the hairline at my temples are quite receded. I honestly cannot remember if they have always been that way or if they gradually receded (probably the latter) and if so, I cannot tell by how much because I never really paid any attention to my hairline before and I usually have had my bangs down throughout the years. Is it time to see a doctor (we have family dermatologist so probably her?) about this ? And how severe would you guys say my case is?

You have plenty of thick hair to save. You are a NW2 who will be approaching a NW3 if you don't do something now.

what would you recommend in his case doctor? propecia alone or propecia + minoxidil on temple ?
i was in a better state when i started propecia alone but it wasnt enough to maintain what i had .

I would recommend propecia alone for 6 month and then add minoxidil if you don't get the result expected .

thank you! will definitely see my dermatologist within a week or 2. Also a follow up, would you know if hair heat styling with a straightening iron could have caused this?

for me there is two situation you can expect .
expect to be a normal responder and maitain , or be a good responder and maybe thicken your temple a little bit .

If after 6 month you keep receding, minoxidil will help you . But don't wait to long on propecia alone and expect a miracle , don't make the same mistake as i do

Definitely not. Your genetics is the only reason this is happening. I am sure people like Zayn Malik do all kinds of harmless stuff to his hair and it still looks perfect.
