About 1 1/2 years ago(Jan 2020) 1 strand of hair became limp. My hair is very thick and stiff due to genetics (I'm 1/4 japanese). The hair on my hairline has been thinning and then falling out. I went through and extremely stressful period a few months before this happened. I assumed my hair started falling out due to stress. It wasnt super noticeable but for the past year it has been getting worse and worse. I assumed it was because of stress but now I'm not so sure because it hasn't grown back. I used to be in great shape but because of injury and laziness I've slipped up on my diet and nutrition and have gained around 25 lbs in the past year. Should I see a dermatologist and get a blood test to check my hormone and/or vitamin levels? What kind of tests should I be getting? Should I start finasteride/minoxidil right away? Will my hair be able to grow back? What can I do now to stall/deter anymore shedding? Thanks for any feedback.

I would see a dermatologist to determine your Hairloss type first….
