i've always had pretty thin hair and some strong cowlicks but over the past few months I've noticed some bald spots after coming out of the shower. Might be receding on my right side, but i'm more concerned with the potential thinning at the crown and on my right side. My hairdresser tells me I'm not thinning and that I have some strong cowlicks, but I am not so sure and wanted some opinions from experienced people. Went to a doctor and got a prescription from finasteride (in canada), but he didn't really check the hair as he had nothing to compare it to he said.

At this point it looks like you’re diffusely thinning. It’s up to you if you want to try Finasteride. Do your research and understand the possible outcomes of going on the medication. But at this point I’d say if your hair is really important to you, you’ll do what it takes to keep what you got.
