23 year old... what norwood am I?

I took 10 pictures, as I'm not really sure what will really help.

One is January 2008 to serve as a baseline, it's a terrible pic but it's all I have that displays it.

Can anyone take a guess for my norwood level?

Aside from this, I have no loss anywhere aside from the recession as far as I can tell. In fact, I have never received more compliments on my hair (which makes it suck that much more).

Thanks in advance! Let me know if you need more pics...

January 2008 (the same hairline I had at 15 so this is before any receding took place):

I wouldn't say you're receding at all, even in people with no male pattern baldness 99% of them don't keep a straight hairline.

Keep these pictures and look back at them in a few months time, if you're more receded then I'd say do something about it, but I'd bet your hairline will still be the same.

Thanks Woody. I can tell that my hairline is still actively changing as of right now actually. The deeper recessed corner doesn't *seem* to have moved in a while, however it's eroding towards the middle to even out to the V more clearly. And that side is also more recessed than the other side.

I will take a look every month though just in case, since balding is on my mother and fathers side. On my moms, my grandfather is a full blown nw7. On my dads, his dad was a nw3-4 and my dad is a nw3-4V at 54. He has been balding since his 20s... so I HOPE I get that lucky. That's easily treatable.

Any other thoughts greatly appreciated.

Your hairline is the closest thing to mine I've seen so far here. Its pretty much identical. I've had this hairline for about a year now. Its hard because I don't know if I'll lose further hair or not, I don't even know if what I have would be considered male pattern baldness, like you.

Took finasteride for a month, regrew a certain amount, I'm off it though because I don't want to mess with my hormone levels. Been on minoxidil and ketoconazole shampoo and seem to be retaining my hair just fine... of course their is no way to know if I was even gonna lose it all in the first place.

Just some observations from my experience and someone with the same hairline :)

Basing on pictures you have provided, I can conclusively tell you that no one can conclusively say you have Androgenetic Alopecia, not even experts-so getting opinions here is of no help. It does not mean you are not in very early stage. Considering your young age, family history, and that you must have noticed some hair issue intuitively, I am afraid you might have Androgenetic Alopecia. Given your family history and your darker hair complexion also suggest it is likely a relatively slow process for you. You will need to keep objective observation over period of time to better asses your situation. You might want to measure, with a ruler or measurement tape, how far your deeper end of temple is from, let's say, the sideburn hairline or from eye brow or from ear etc. Use same mirror, light, angle when you keep tab on your progress. Please report back what you notice

Excellent advice. I will do that, I'll have my gf measure when I see her.
