I'm 23, thinning and receding since I was 18. I started using rogaine at 19, and generic propecia shortly after, 1mg a day. I ordered online and never sought medical advice. I stopped taking the generic propecia about 6 months ago, as I felt it gave me no regrowth and I was still losing hair. So I was on the generic propecia for about 2 and and a half years. I feared possible long term side effects so I felt I had to stop taking it.

This is a picture of my hair, taken with flash in a dark room.

It is the first time I have taken a picture of my hair in two years, and its quite depressing as I just realised that my hair is worse that I thought.

At the moment all I am using is rogaine foam twice daily. What other things should I add to my regimen? I haven't really kept up on the hairloss scene in the past two years, have there been any developments or studies on propecia, avodart etc, are there any new drugs on the horizon?

I don't exactly have a face that suits a buzzed look, big nose and big ears that stick out, and not forgetting a chubby face.

You are in my exact same situtation, except i was a slick NW4a at your age, whereas you are a diffuse Nw5.5.

If I had to do over, i would have got a really nice piece for $200, and had a perfect NW1, and saved a lot of money. I regret having spent $14,000 on grafts that only gave me 1/3 the density I want. Now I'm just going to shave them off, and their stubble will complicate my wearing.

Based on your level of hairloss at 23 I really think you need to be on dutasteride. You need something with some serious power. Other than that I dont think there is a lot of other options im afraid :( Your best bet is Follica. They have discovered a cure to hairloss, its in the process of human test subjects right now.

Other than that I agree with CCS, its time to looking into hair pieces. Your hair looks gone.
